Accessibility Statement
DRAFT — NOT YET IN FORCE. Conformance claims below must be backed by an actual audit before publication. Publishing an unearned conformance claim is worse than publishing none. Items marked
[VERIFY]need testing evidence.
After Dark Systems, LLC builds software that works without sight. This is not a retrofit or a compliance exercise — it is how our products are designed, and it is why we ship speech-capable command-line clients alongside our web interfaces.
Scope
This statement covers the corporate site, security products, and infrastructure and API services operated by After Dark Systems, LLC, across two kinds of interface:
- Web interfaces — measured against WCAG 2.1 Level AA
- Command-line clients — measured against EN 301 549 Chapter 11 and the Section 508 software provisions
Most accessibility statements cover only the first. Our command-line clients are a first-class interface, not a developer convenience, and we hold them to the software criteria that actually apply to them.
Conformance status
| Interface | Standard | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Web | WCAG 2.1 AA | [VERIFY: partially conformant pending audit] |
| Web | EN 301 549 | [VERIFY: pending audit] |
| CLI clients | EN 301 549 Ch. 11 | [VERIFY: pending audit] |
| CLI clients | Section 508 | [VERIFY: pending audit] |
"Partially conformant" means most of the standard is met but some content does not yet fully conform. We will state exactly which parts once the audit is done, rather than claiming more than we can evidence.
A Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT 2.5 Int) covering WCAG 2.1, Section 508, and EN 301 549 is available to customers and prospective customers on request from accessibility@afterdarksys.com.
What we do
Every document in plain text
Every legal document on this site is published as plain text at the same path
with a .txt extension. For example:
https://legal.afterdarksys.com/afterdarksys/privacy.html
https://legal.afterdarksys.com/afterdarksys/privacy.txt
The plain-text version has no markup to navigate around, reads cleanly in any screen reader, and can be piped directly to speech from a terminal.
Command-line access
Our CLI clients can retrieve and read these documents directly, so you never need to open a browser to read our terms:

Web interfaces
- Semantic HTML with correct landmark structure — banner, navigation, main, contentinfo
- One
h1per page and no skipped heading levels, so screen-reader heading navigation works - A skip-to-content link as the first item in tab order
- Visible focus indicators on every interactive element
- Text contrast meeting or exceeding WCAG AA in both light and dark themes
- No meaning conveyed by colour alone
- Wide tables scroll inside their own labelled, keyboard-reachable container rather than forcing the page to scroll sideways
- Layouts that reflow to 320px and tolerate 200% zoom without loss of content
prefers-reduced-motionrespected- No time limits on reading content
- No content that flashes
Build-time enforcement
Heading order, single-h1, and descriptive link text are checked automatically
when this site is built. A document that fails those checks does not publish.
Known limitations
[VERIFY: this section must be completed honestly after audit. An accessibility statement with an empty limitations section reads as untested, not as perfect.]
We are aware of the following and are working on them:
- Third-party embedded components we do not control may not meet the same standard. Where that is true we will name them here.
- PDF documents, where we publish any, may not be fully tagged.
Assistive technology we test with
[VERIFY: list only what has actually been tested.]
Feedback
If you hit a barrier anywhere in our products, tell us and we will fix it.
- Email: accessibility@afterdarksys.com
- We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days and to give you a substantive answer, including a fix timeline, within 10 business days.
If you need any document on this site in another format — large print, a different plain-text layout, or read aloud by a person — ask and we will provide it at no charge.
Enforcement
If you are in the EU and are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the market surveillance authority in your member state under the European Accessibility Act.
If you are in the United States, you may contact us directly at the address above; we would rather fix the problem than have you go elsewhere.
Legal basis for this statement
This statement is published with reference to:
- European Accessibility Act, Directive (EU) 2019/882, applicable since 28 June 2025
- EN 301 549, the harmonised European standard
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA
- Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act
[VERIFY: After Dark Systems may qualify for the EAA microenterprise exemption (under 10 staff and turnover at or below €2M), which exempts service providers from the Act's service obligations. That exemption does not remove the procurement-driven need for a VPAT. Confirm status with counsel.]
Preparation
This statement was prepared on 2026-08-05 based on a self-assessment.
[VERIFY: replace with the date and method of the actual audit — self-assessment or third-party evaluation — before publication.]
